Wedding Shoes & Something Blue

by Nina on June 30, 2010

As most of you know, I’ve been on the hunt for a beautiful pair of wedding shoes in the perfect shade of blue. I thought it would be a fun “something blue” – even though since then I now see tons of brides wearing blue shoes. And you know me… once a trend takes over, I lose interest pretty quickly! Plus I couldn’t find what I was looking for… size 5, pretty blue, small platform for comfort, simple in lines, nothing too busy…

So when I popped into Neiman Marcus yesterday in between tastings and the sales person directed me to the gold glittery peep toe by Kate Spade, I was happy as a clam! They run small so I was able to order a size 5.5 (which never happens &  also why I couldn’t share pictures yesterday) and they’ll be delivered to my parent’s door step, free shipping. Disclaimer: This picture does absolutely NOTHING for this shoe.

I know I’m not the first or last person to wear a gold shoe on her wedding day but a gold shoe is a classic, not a trend. And I have a pretty strong feeling that I will be much happier with this choice because my dress is far from trendy and I’m really not a trendy kinda gal.

I’m glad I’ll have Kate carrying me through the big day and let’s be honest, glittery shoes are just plain awesome!

love these, I think you’ll be happier when you pop open the wedding album in 30 years and see the same very same shoes from your wedding day in your closet because they are classic enough to carry you through.Great Choice!

love the shoes! a cute way of adding something blue to your attire is to get a ribbon monogrammed (in blue) with your new monogram and your wedding date to wear inside your dress!

I love the colored shoes trend, I think it’s really fun. But when it came down to getting my own wedding shoes, I actually went with gold too. They go perfectly with my dress and they make me feel both comfortable and glamourous.

Yours look gorgeous!

I have small feet too, so I know how hard it is to find size 5′s! Those are nice!

I’ve seen these shoes in person, they make my heart melt :-) I like these a lot better than the blue shoes. I’m hoping to do red shoes for my wedding.

You definitely made the right choice!! The gold shoes are adorable, and they look similar to a pair of Jimmy Choo’s I saw a while ago. Congrats on finding the perfect shoes!! :)

My daughter wore glittery gold platform peep-toes as her wedding shoes. Hers were Jimmy Choo I believe, and they were perfect! Lovely choice.

LOVE. Love, love, love them. You can never go wrong with a classic, nor with Kate Spade, in my opinion! Enjoy wearing them; they are as beautiful as Cinderella’s shoes in my imagination! :)
