Happy Monday, friends! Can you believe we are just a few days away from October 1st? I can’t. Where has the year gone? It seems like yesterday JH was proposing and we’ve been married almost 2 months now. Craziness.
I received my first three spools of Twinery in the mail. I can’t wait to get tying!

I want to host a Halloween party just so I can make these… found in the current issue of Martha Stewart Living.

If you’ve been reading this blog for any time at all, you know I’m a sucker for office supplies. I need these write-on note tabs. I will be tabbing everything I can get my hands on. Pay special attention to the note in the bottom of the ad – writable, highlightable (best made-up word ever), removable AND RE-STICKABLE (#2 best made-up word ever)!
Most kids go the toy department or candy aisle as a kid, nope not me. Office supply section. As a child, my mother would find me with my arms full of pens, markers and restaurant order/recipe pads!

Also found in the current issue of Martha Stewart Living… Adult Grilled Cheese sandwiches. Do you make grilled cheese sandwiches differently now that you’re an adult??? I sure hope I’m not the only “adult” in America that still uses regular bread, butter and American cheese slices. But I have to say this spread is pretty enough to be framed!

Product of the Week: Nestle Coffee-Mate Cinnamon Vanilla Creme. It’s so so so scrumptious.

A few random thoughts to go along with this hodgepodge of a post:
- I love being married. It’s better than I ever imagined. JH is the best husband a girl could ask for. He loves every ounce of me. Even when I drink a little too much and decide to sing a fine selection of country music at the top of my lungs on the way home from a night out.
- My best friend, Jenna is getting married this Saturday. I’m so unbelievably happy for her. So happy that every time I talk about her wedding I get happy-teary. I’ll be the mess of a MOH on the alter.
- My mother started her final 6 week segment of culinary school today. We are so proud of her.
- My sister was home from college this weekend. It was so great to see her pretty face and hug her. We miss her so much.
- I talked to Uncle Jack today. I love our afternoon chats while I’m driving home from work. We go over each others schedules and it makes me smile big when he says, “yes, I read that on the blog!”
- Last night I spent the evening with my parents. Just the three of us (JH was working). The dinner was incredible but the company was even better. The time with my parents is different now that I’m married but somehow it seems even more special. I love the two of them so much!
- I found an old china cabinet that would be perfect for my kitchen wall on Craigslist for $125. It will need a lot of work but it is a great piece. The seller will not respond to my emails. So irritating.
- I watched Dancing with the Stars tonight even though I said I didn’t think I was going to watch this season. It’s Jennifer Grey’s fault.
- I watched Desperate Housewives last night and I’ve already canceled the series from our DVR. No more housewives for me. Last night’s episode was LAME and the storylines for the season sound terrible.
- I received notification another one of our One Kings Lane orders shipped today. Are you a member of OKL? If not, here’s an invitation for you, click here to shop! You’ll love it.
- I’m going to go now and read a little more of The Hunger Games
. It’s a fantastic read.
- Oh one more thing, you should join Erin & Rachel’s book club over at Book Beginnings & Bookends. They just announced their second book – Commencement
- and are going to post the first round of questions on October 3rd. I’ve already purchased my copy of the book and plan to get a head start so I’m ready to link up next Monday!
Good night. Sleep tight.

Oh, I forgot to add… I LOVE adult grilled cheese sammies! Just last night I made fresh tomato basil soup and we had black forest ham & havarti grilled cheese sammies on fresh sourdough! YUMMM! My other favorites are havarti & thinly sliced green apples, ham, avacado & bacon with cheddar and like you, I love just the classic white bread & american cheese!!!
I make them on my grill pan with a bacon press because I don’t have a panini maker.

I love this post. All the little things and happenings are always most interesting to me! Thanks for posting that twine, I’m looking for some navy and white for wedding projects

I love that you love office supplies. Partially because I have always loved filling out forms…and it makes me feel a little less strange. My Mom used to bring home boxes of forms from her work and I would sit and fill out fake ones with made up names for hours. As an adult, I still get a little excited about going to the doctor or a new place because I know I will get to fill one out. So, next time I need an office supply to fill out a form, I will call you.

I loved those tabs and the grilled cheese sandwiches and they jumped out at me when I was reading the MS Living magazine too. I don’t like to mess with my grilled cheese sandwiches much either but I do love using Swiss instead of American and a slice of tomato.
I’m also an office supply nut, Sharpies and freshly sharpened pencils are my office supplies of choice.
And I never thought about it before but I totally agree with you about spending time with your family how it is different once your married. Glad you are loving the married life!

So glad you are loving being married. I bet that Craigs List person already sold it, may be why they haven’t responded. I totally want to throw a Halloween party too, just so I can have an excuse to decorate like crazy!

It’s good to know that I wasn’t the only kid that got restaurant order pads! I loved those things!
I’m watching Dancing with the Stars because of Jennifer Grey too. I heart her. I mean, I did spend most of my childhood wanting to be her.
I watched Desperate Housewives, too, and couldn’t believe how stupid it was. I think I’m done with that show.
Love love the Avery tabs … perfect for marking new recipes like the pic shows! Also made a couple of the “adult” grilled cheese from Martha, delish, I would highly recommend #2 and #9!!!
I love being married too! It really is the best, even on the not so great days!
Also, thanks so much for the book club shout out

I love Halloween too! I do host a neighborhood party each year, and last year my daughter and I made those folded paper owls, pumpkins, etc. that you pictured. (Martha does repeat her Halloween ideas.) I had to do some touch up repairs to them this year when I put them up for the party (last week), b/c the glue didn’t hold up well in the attic.
As for the coffee-mate, it is actually more calories than using half and half, and it has trans-fats (hidden as “hydrogenated” oil) which are bad even in trace amounts. Sorry to be a killjoy, but just thought it should be mentioned.
so in love with that yarn! happy crafting!
