100 Days

by Nina on April 15, 2011

I’ll be 26 weeks on Sunday, today marks 100 days until Jack’s due date. He is very active and growing quite well. Our to-do list is getting shorter and shorter but we still have a million things to do before July. And tomorrow we’ll be in the double digits. Yikes!

I do have most of our heavy household items set up with Subscribe & Save on Amazon, along with diapers, wipes and Dreft. I know a lot of people do not agree with “stocking up” on items like diapers and wipes but I’m ordering everything through Amazon.

Amazon has the very best return policy known to man (seriously), as long as it qualifies (and all of my diapers & wipes do), you have 365 days after the delivery date to return any unopened packages for FREE. Can’t beat that! I would rather take the chance and be prepared. Everyone running around buying diapers and other baby essentials after Jack’s birth makes me nervous just thinking about it.

Just me.

I have completed our baby registries. The basics. Babies R Us and Amazon. Amazon because a few of the larger items are much cheaper than BRU and let’s be honest not everyone is comfortable in baby stores. Which is perfectly okay! I hate Toys R Us.

I have two showers in May and one in June so I wanted to make sure I had everything covered.

Baby talk check list

I used the Registry Checklist in the BabyTalk Pregnancy Planner (I have not been able to find one online, hopefully your OB has a copy for you). It was SO easy to follow and a great place to make notes etc. I’m considering recreating the list on my own so that I can add a place for other notes like where the item was purchased from, received as a gift, purchased by us, returned, rebates, warranties, store credit/cash received… you get the idea. More info!

In general, I really enjoy the BabyTalk magazine and it’s FREE!

We’ve received numerous extremely generous gifts already and have purchased many items ourselves. The Maclaren Triumph we purchased arrived earlier in the week and we are both impressed with it’s quality. I wanted to take it for a test drive around the neighborhood last night but JH was not having it. Don’t panic, only kidding! We’ve also purchased numerous books and toys and lots of sweet little boy outfits.

After lots of research, here are a few of the items we’ve picked:

Peg Perego infant car seat with an additional base

Britax Boulevard 70 convertible and extra car seat cover

Dr. Brown’s, BornFree and Tommee Tippee bottle starter kits

Tripp Trapp by Stokke with attachments

4moms mamaRoo infant seat (we plan to use this in place of a swing)

Summer Infant BabyTouch video monitor

I’ll fill you in on more later. I need to run to the grocery store. We are out of milk and I want some cereal… and veggie fajitas! Oh, pregnancy!

And apparently we’re under a tornado warning so I better run fast.

Oh Nina, what fun! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I would love, love, love for you to put a spreadsheet like that together (and maybe others others)… Sort of like a mom version of your Russell & Hazel wedding binder inserts! You could sell the digital copy for a few dollars. I’m sure many clueless moms-to-be born without the organizing gene but wishing they had it (like maybe me one day!) would love to scoop those up! xoxo

I love that you registered at amazon! I’m one of the people freaked out by BRU! My job has helped me get over that a bit though. So excited for you and JH – these next 100 days will fly!

My husband and I were just talking today about when we only had 100 days left. Now we have 37….they will FLY BY for you!!

Good call on registering at Amazon. I did a registry at Diapers.com and most of my non-mom friends ordered from there. They loved the convenience.

We went with the mamaroo as well instead of a swing. JW is now enjoying it and will even take naps in it. He did not like it at first. Also, we used an infant car seat insert in the mamaroo when he was smaller. It made it more snug for him.

Congratulations! The time will fly by!
