I know I’m the last to post a recap but here it is. I know I’ve been completely lame this week with my posting or lack of. I’ve been scared to turn on my computer because I left my Mac charger in the hotel room in Charleston (or at least that’s where I think I left it). And for some reason I can’t blog from other computers. It’s as if my MacBook has special blogging powers. My mojo is far better when I’m sitting at what I like to call “the silver mother ship.”
I called South Carolina home for a few short days last week and loved every minute of it… even when I was sick in the hotel room for an entire day. Erin, the one and only Blue Eyed Bride, was the hostess with the mostess! Her home is filled with love, joy and happiness. I’m privileged to call her my friend. I could write an entire post about Hudson. The Aunnie loves The Hud. And I cannot wait for Todd and JH to meet.
So Mojito and I arrived on Wednesday (after a LONG night at DFW. 7 glasses of wine, buffalo chicken wings, artichoke dip and a few sliders) and Margaret from It Is Everlasting joined us on Thursday.
We met Auntie Grits in Charleston on Day 3 for Mojito and I. We were greeted at The Charleston Place with a carriage ride around the city. What a city! It’s architecture, history and southern hospitality is second-to-none in my opinion. There is a powerful feeling of relaxation in the air. It was a lovely change of pace.
The food. Oh my. The food. As most of you know by now, food is the one of the master keys to my heart! Feed me a good meal and I’ll love you forever. And who doesn’t appreciate fantastic presentation? This is pretty enough to be a canvas painting in my future kitchen. Just saying!
Tidbits from the weekend:
My suitcase weighed 41 lbs and I really only needed to pack my LEC white jeans, my LEC gray scarf, 4 solid shirts and my gold Revas.
My largest purchase of the weekend was my meal + cookbook (everyone signed the inside!) at Magnolias on Friday night.
The mash potatoes at Cypress are reason enough to book a flight and go to Charleston for the weekend.
Ginger Ale is my savior.
And apparently, I’m quite the queen of one-liners.
Friendship is one of the most important pieces to making your heart full. I thank God every day that he has opened doors (and windows) for me to meet some of the most remarkable people. These girls will always have a very special place in my heart… my full heart.
Happy Good Friday, friends. What a wonderful day it is.
