Today started off by going to the office with my husband. (I requested he set up a workstation for me but I’m pretty sure he didn’t care much for that idea.) Our cell phones are all under a business account so I was unable to order my new Verizon iPhone4 on my own at 3 a.m. like I wanted to. After a lot of headache and a giant Italian lunch, my iPhone4 order is complete, confirmed and sealed with a kiss! Thank you, Jesus!
Yesterday afternoon I received the February BHG in the mail (thanks, Kate), and no different from any other month I found a handful of ideas to add to the Idea binder.
I have binders full of stuff. I had two binders for our wedding, I currently have two binders for recipes and I need to start one for the nursery. After reading this month’s BHG, I now want to set up a (my own name for it) a Correspondence Binder too. Cards, greetings, pens and stamps – all in one place! It’s a perfect solution for a person like me that doesn’t have a ton of space right now but is in desperate need of some organization. Added bonus: low cost project!

With all of these projects I want/need to do, I’m thinking the merge of the guest room and office is going to happen sooner rather than later. The third bedroom will now be the nursery so… no more in-home storage unit for us!
I desperately need to move my “office” off of the kitchen counter… for multiple reasons. 1) It makes the kitchen look cluttered which makes me crazy. 2) I can’t blog from the couch. The darn thing sucks all the life right out of me. 3) I need an actual desk where I can organize things and make lists… and store all of my binders!
Separation is a good thing in my book. I cook in the kitchen, I relax in the living room, I sleep in our bedroom… naturally, I need a workspace to work in!
For the guest room/office space, I’m thinking of eliminating one night stand and putting a corner desk in it’s place. Something like the pictures below. A color would be nice but the wood might work just fine for the dirt cheap price of $163 on Overstock.com. I plan to use an upholstered headboard in the guest room/office with minimal furniture pieces other than night stand, desk and maybe a shelf of some sort. The room is not micro but it’s far from large.

apartmenttherapy.com told me to look on overstock!
For large items like couches and bedroom furniture, I’m very particular about the quality and material of the pieces but this is a temporary fix to a current problem. I need a workspace and I have very few options of where to put it. The chances of this piece working in our next home are slim to none. Sometimes a cheap piece of furniture is just what you need.
What do you think? Good idea? What about a chair? It will need to be somewhat small and not on wheels.
Along with flipping through magazines and catalogs, I’m also reading Ape House with the Book Beginnings and Bookends Book Club. I’ve only just begun but I’m enjoying it already. Click here to get more info if you are interested in reading along too!

Before I go, don’t forget to check out Callie’s February specials over on Willow House Mom. The Devonshire Lidded Trifle for $22.48, down from $44.96, is a steal! Don’t forget all orders must be placed through Callie to get the monthly specials. Email Callie at willowhousemom@gmail.com.
Off to heat up leftover fajitas for dinners and get ready for night under a big, warm blanket. Will Spring actually come early? I sure hope so.

Please give us an “Ape House” review! It’s on my “list” after just reading Water for Elephants!
I love these corner desks!! I’ve never seen these before.
