As most of you know, my actual “desire” to read a book cover to cover has increased dramatically over the last week or so. So during a trip to Target on Tuesday (none-the-less), I ran into a good friend of mine and she gave me a few recommendations for great Summer Reads. While I was there I also picked up the first two books of the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris that my friend Kate of Elefantitas Alegres says are absolute must-reads!

I started with Love The One Your With by Emily Giffin. I might have finished it this morning over my latte but I called my Godfather instead. We talked all the way through the coffee hour & ended the conversation by me successfully walking him through printing pictures that we send him via email!! I’m always happy to help in the computer department. We always a get a good laugh out of something that most probably would not which is what makes our conversations so special. Now that he has a laptop, he reads my blog too! I guess my target audience isn’t only women 25 – 45, after all. Love ya, Unc!
I’m not sure how I feel about Love The One Your With…. It’s a super easy read, it’s like a chick-flick on TBS (you know the ones you watch every time it’s on), I love the characters, the prim & proper part of me hates Leo and the fine details of the Buckhead neighborhood makes me want to pack my bags and move to Atlanta. But, the ending will make-it or break-it for me. So, we shall see.
I’m off to run errands, manicure in preparation of the wedding tomorrow and hopefully I will resolve my tan line dilemma. Have a fantastic afternoon!

Can I get a Woop Woop for Sookie!!!!
With each blog post you write regarding your tan line dilemma I grow more and more aware of the lovely white stripes on my shoulder’s in my friend’s wedding a few weeks ago. Believe it or not, a spray tan was in fact “covering” my body at the time. Apparently they cannot spray away the proof that I had been in the real sun just days before. Blah.
P.S. I too am my Grandfather’s go-to gal when it comes to the basics of computer navigation. I must give him credit for being 76 with an email account…
Excited to hear all about your reads
xoxo
Read The Beach House and it was terrific. Hope you enjoy it!
loved, loved, loved the beach house! was “eh” about love the one your with…the way you describe how you feel is the way i did. happy reading!
I live right in the heart of Buckhead, and while I have never read that book, I guarantee you it is even more fabulous in real life than any book can make it seem. I am within walking distance of more than 10 4 or 5 star restaurants, 2 of the best malls in the US, and close to the art museum, aquarium, sports arenas, and a bazillion other things.
You should probably come visit…just to help you understand the book better…right?
Nothing better than “brain fluff” as I call it for summer reading- it’s what summer is all about- light, fun, frothy and nothing too serious
kHm
I checked The Beach House out of the library the other day. I am hoping to read it when I report for jury duty on Wednesday.
I loved the Beach House. Although beware, it will make you want to buy a house on Nantucket asap!
Love the Sookie Stackhouse Series… Could Elvis really be a vampire?
