I know I made a promise to share more personal stories and daily details with all of you. I know that has not been happening. I give it a good solid effort with each new day. I open up my shining silver friend, Mac & then I suddenly lose all interest in sharing information about my life. I do not like it and I am confident I will pop out of this funk soon but I’m not making any promising that it will happen today or tomorrow or even the next. One day. One foot in front of the next.
Today I’m kicking myself for telling everyone and their brother about my blog. I’m not claiming that I have some major following or anything. I’m just saying that everyone I know in real life knows about this blog. Why is this a problem? While most of you can vent about your day’s activities and/or slam your boss…. my hands are tied. It makes me want to shut down this blog and start all over. I know I’m being Negative Nancy today & I apologize.
So for now, I’m going to put on a cute summer dress, drive to the closest McD’s, order a big fat coke and try to figure out why or how people can think they are experts at something they know absolutely nothing about.

Totally understand about not wanting to dish about the private dealings of one’s life. I am the same way–which is why my blog is probably only interesting to those who like to read about the daily drivel and mundane goings-on in my life. I like reading anything you write–so that is my two cents
According to Nina can’t always be deisgner shoes and drive thru drinks! Life is full of ups and downs…it’s what makes it interesting! So today is not the best day, tomorrow can only be better! Chin up!

I know how you feel! When your real life friends and family read your blog, you do have to somewhat censor what you write. At least to a certain extent. Not that you would necessarily write anything bad about these people its just that some may take things the wrong way.

I have the same situation. My niece found my blog then she told my sil, other niece, brother, etc. Then a few of PD’s friends found out. So I try not to be careful, but I still kinda watch what I say. I have thought about going private, but I like meeting my new “blog” aka imaginary friends

I totally feel your pain. I can’t say anything I want to on my own blog. I have to censor myself every day because everyone I know reads it. I told a friend, who told her mom, who is best friends with Todd’s mom and now Todd’s entire extended family reads. I can’t vent about my in-laws like everyone else can. I can’t cuss when I want to!
My coworkers read it because one of my coworkers is also a friend, but she told everyone about it. I walk into stores in Columbia and someone says, “I don’t want to creep you out, but I read your blog.” So… I love that I’m not anonymous, but sometimes anonymity would be great! Sometimes you just need to get things off your chest. So… let’s vent to each other, deal?

Have you considered creating a private blog, you could control the people viewing and what not? Or just keep it entirely annonomyus, start from scratch and nobody knows its you…while you are still mainstream according to nina? And not associate it with this blog?

Anyways–question for ya! I figured you’d give some great advice on this sort of topic. I have 3 weddings to go to this fall/early winter. I am completely baffled as to what to wear. I need to start keeping my eye open as fall stuff starts popping up. But, one is a November, probably not formal, but not completely casual…and the other two will most likely be somewhat formal…in Dec/January.

I can relate. I don’t have a major following, but I told my sister about it, who told my mom, who told my dad, who told all of the extended family… and now they read it every day! Same thing with my in-laws – my husband told them, and now relatives that I’ve never even met are emailing me, telling me how much they love reading it and being a part of our lives. I really like the fact that it’s a way for me to connect with all of these people and be involved with them, but it’d be nice to be able to vent. I’ve really thought about creating a new blog, but I’m not sure that I have energy!

I completely hear you. Some days I even entertain the idea of starting another – anonymous – blog. Not because of any of you fine Interweb friends, but to give me a place to vent on topics concerning my real life. But then who has the time for multiple blogs? Not me!
