Petunia in Paradise’s comment: Nina, you have the prettiest, shiniest hair! Which shampoo/cond/styling products do you use???
First, thank you for the compliment! You are very sweet. Second, below is the “How-To” post on my hair that I posted a month or so ago.
Disclaimer: I must start by saying that I have naturally curly hair… aka The Italian Wave. Therefore I cannot take full credit for the way my hair looks… You could say I was born with Good Hair. Even though I have to say the 90s were tough… a lot of Bad Hair pictures in the old photo albums!
The Major Key Players:
1. A ridiculously large round brush. I use the 4 1/2″ Boar round brush… thanks to Jenna for her recommendation. Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion Mega is the very best I’ve ever used. You can purchase the item in my aStore or click the link above. If you are desperate for good hair… this is the best way to spend $26.99.

2. Find the perfect shampoo for YOU. My shampoo might not be the best for you but this is what I use. It’s salon quality at drug store price. Organix hair line is one of the best I’ve used in a long time. I’m a product junkie so I’m not going to lie and tell you this is the only thing I use. Anyway, my point is… it’s a process of trial and error… it might take you a while to find it but when you do it will be a Key Player in this Game of Good Hair.

ORGANIX Smoothing Shea Butter Complete Hair Care Kit
3. Smoothing Serum… this is another important factor but you have to find the right one for YOU. You need to make special note that I have very coarse/thick hair. I literally could give four bald men a full head of hair and still have a full head of hair left for myself therefore if you have thin hair, these products may not work as well for you. I use Light Elements Smoothing Fluid – 100ml/3.4oz by Aveda. You can purchase it in my aStore.
A few extra details:
4 & 5. A good hair dryer and straightener are also Key Players. My hair dryer of choice can be found in my aStore {it’s travel size but works better than standard} and unfortunately my all-time favorite straightener is no longer available and I’m having a hard time finding it online. It’s called the SuperNova Super something or other. I’ll try to find more details for you. {revisit}
6. Good music helps {the sing along kind}… considering it takes me about 25+ minutes to dry my hair!
7. If schedule permits, let hair air dry for a little while. This is less stress on your hair… less drying, pulling, etc.
8. The straightener is a finishing touch… this is important. Straighteners do not give you volume… use them as a tool to fix flyaways or wavy pieces you might have missed with the round brush!
9. Hair spray… A light to medium finish. It’s not 1985, folks.
10. Enjoy your silky smooth and voluminous hair!!

I love Organix too! I’m up at College and only see my parents about once every 4 months. I was only using Organix for a week when I went home for Spring Break. One of the first things my mom told me was how shiny my hair was and what I was doing different
I love the Coconut one the best, but I’m definitely going to try Shea butter!
