I’m not a fan of games at showers but I’m always looking for ways to make showers more interactive. With that, le jeu au pair was created. Basic translation is “nanny for a day.”
Le jeu au pair: As the guests arrived they were given a small numbered card and their gift was labeled with a different number. When it was time to open gifts each guest was given the gift that matched their numbered card. I walked around, introduced each guest as their number was called, told a little bit about them (our relationship & some good stories) and together we opened the card and gift. It was a lot of fun and very personal. It was a great way for me to interact with each guest and show my appreciation for their endless generosity. It was also a great way for all of the guests to learn more about each other and get an up close look at all the wonderful gifts. I loved that everyone was involved and shared the experience with me.
There are not enough words to express my appreciation to everyone that helped with the shower and each and every guest that shared the day with me. It will be a very special memory forever!
