My mother recently gave me this notepad as a “just because I love you” gift. The gifts you don’t expect are always the greatest… for the most part, that is!
The most interesting part… and/or alarming… is that the notepad has 60 sheets. Yes, 60! I don’t know that I’ve dated 60 people in all of my 28 years. {Quick rough estimate in my head} Nope, not even close to 60. I just said a prayer that I don’t have to date 60 more before I find The One. That’s just down right tragic… if that’s indeed the case.
Here’s what the notepad from Knock Knock states on the back… “The pro-con process remains the world’s best decision-making technology. Why not apply it to your love life? Whether you’re on the fence or pretty darn sure about a paramour’s fate, spell it out point by point, then move forward knowing you’ll have no regrets.” The small print reads… “The essential tool – and perfect gift – for the perplexed dater!”
Am I a perplexed dater? Please NO!
Let’s take a quick trip down memory lane. If I would have had this notepad through the last 5 years (we won’t cover them all)…
Paramour: Older and Wiser (so he thought)
Pro: Ready to settle down
Con: But still acted like a child
Plan of Action: I break it off
Implemented: Check!
(Not sure of his status)
Paramour: Small Town Man
Pro: He wrote me a song and sent me the CD in the mail (after we broke up)
Con: Far too different
Plan of Action: I break it off
Implemented: Check!
(I think he’s married now)
Paramour: Downtown Divorced
Pro: Older and lived in the city.
Con: Had not healed from divorce
Plan of Action: I didn’t have one but he did… Break up. Best for both of us.
Implemented: Check!
(He’s engaged now)
Paramour: Young Successful Idiot
Pro: Adorable
Con: Scum of the Earth
Plan of Action: Go on a trip. Break up before we return home.
Implemented: Check!
(Not sure of status)
Paramour: Mc Good on Paper
Pro: Loved his friends
Con: Bad with the feelings part and he just didn’t get me
Plan of Action: Mutual break up
Implemented: Check!
(Not sure of status)

OMG, Nina. Way too funny especially for a list-maker like myself. I may need to get one of these notepads. Here’s hoping we don’t have to date 60+ guys to find ours! xox

Nina! This is too funny. I love your Pro/Con breakdown. I have some of the other Knock-Knock checklists that are really helpful… packing and what we’re out of.
Too cute of your mom to get that for you. I wish I lived closer– I’d set you up with my single friends!
So funny!!!
