I’m Going On A Trip, Who’s coming with me?

by Nina on March 15, 2006

I went to Siesta Key with my family last week. We had a great time! The beach is the perfect place to catch up on all the latest issues of your favorite magazines! I thought I would share a few things that I found.

Travel + Leisure This month’s cover story is “The Next Great Beach Resorts.”

Here are a few to check out.

Asia Hua Hin, Thailand: Evason Hideaway & Six Senses Spa, Praseban Resort and Supatra by the Sea
Sri Lanka: Amanwella and The Fortress
Hawaii – the Big Island: Kona Village Resorts, Kapalua Resort, The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua
Mexico Todos Santos: Posada La Poza
The CaribbeanDominican Republic: Sivory Punta Cana, Casa Colonial Beach Resort & Spa, Playa Grande Resorts
St. Lucia: Coco Palm
Azores, Portugal: Caloura Hotel Resorts, Pousada Forte de Sao Sebastiao
Antiparos, Greece: Five Star Greece, Oliaros Studios
Oualidia, Morocco: Villa La Diouana
Zanzibar, Tanzania: Zamani Zanzibar Kempinski,
Gallery Zanzibar, Mtoni Marine

The fashionista in me couldn’t leave out Lucky Magazine’s “How to Shop for a little black dress” written by documentary filmmaker Liliana Greenfield-Sanders. As most of you know, I adore my collection of little black dresses!

A little embellishment is key. Ruchedsleeves, contrast stitching, or a pretty waist tie will make another wise basic dress look really expensive. Look for unfussy fabric. Black canautomatically come off as formal, so a low-key material – like cotton, knit or jersey – relaxes the look and keeps these dresses from feeling stuffy. Accessorize with bright shoes. Even simplesolid-color pumps will add a bit of a kick. Grab this month’s issue of Lucky and check out page 112 for little black dresses by Banana Republic, Cynthia Rowley and Olga Kapustina.

If you are in the mood for a romantic love story… Pick up the Spring/Summer issue of Town and Country Weddings and read Kimberly Schlegel and Justin Whitman’s symphonic ceremony story or capture the details of Stacey Kaye and Matthew Bronfman’s beach wedding – Upon arrival their guests received totes, which contained Michael Kors sunglasses, Havana Joe flip-flops and Origins skin-care products, just to name a few.

On the very last page, you can read a wedding story that was originally published in the July 1915 issue of Town and Country… talk about taking a trip!
