I figured this out because I ran into the opposite problem, I wear a 10 so the bigger the size the wider the top became and mine were tightened up all the way and still not touching my legs. I went with the beige boot and lilac sock, not sure if I like my sock pick but there were literally very little available anywhere today. I am currently on a mission to find the striped socks. I love the idea of the contrast of dark and light, and yet I bought the light/light combo! I am also thinking of the green sock to go with my new olive North Face anorak. I am hooked!
