Hostess Gifts

by Nina on June 7, 2011

I get the question, “What are your favorite hostess/thank you gifts to give?” a lot. With my last shower just a week or so behind us, I thought I would share the hostess gifts I gave the girls plus a few others.

The Monogram Chick helped me out this time with these awesome and USEFUL monogrammed straw tumblers for each of the hostesses! Sarah is incredible to work with. All of her products are of great quality and superb style!

Key components for Hostess / Thank You Gifts in my book:

1. Something the person would most likely not buy for themselves.

2. USEFUL. As a hostess you gain a whole lot of extra stuff with each party. The last thing you want to do is give the person another item to add to their closet. Plus, if they can use the item you also give them the gift of immediate satisfaction for a job well done!

A few other ideas:

A luxe treat like a spa service. Manicure, pedicure, facial etc.

Personalized stationery. Sarah’s oversized monogram folded notes are some of my favorites!

Magazine subscriptions. Check out Callie’s website for great deals on titles like People, Southern Living, Real Simple and Cooking Light.

High-end candle. Low Country Luxe High Cotton is the BEST in my book. With a $55 price tag, it’s hard to justify ordering them for yourself on a regular basis which makes for a highly appreciated gift!

Books. Find a book that relates to you and the gift recipient. For example, I love sending this book by Nina Garcia or a copy of my current favorite novel with a thoughtful note inside.

Do you have a go-to thank you gift? If so, please share!

Great tips! For the tumblers, do you typically give 1 tumbler per hostess?

Yes, each hostess receives a gift! You’ll notice my ideas range in price for that very reason. Thanks for the comment!

For my shower, I gave the hostesses Vera Bradley umbrellas (sticking with the ‘shower’ theme). They LOVED them, and this crew hosts many, many showers. Love your ideas!

I would to love to receive on of those as a hostess gift. Its the type of thing you wont allow yourself to spend money on, but is so nice to have!

A bottle of wine and a wine stopper is always well received…. assuming the hostess is a wine drinker. :o )

These are all great ideas, Nina! I’m a huge fan of Low Country Luxe candles too. I also like to give personalized note cards. The new Linda & Harriett notepads would make great gifts too.

I gave potted plants to my hostesses for one of my bridal showers. I planted a low maintenance plant in a urn like container from Anthropologie. The containers were around $6 and so were the plants. I tied some cute raffia around them too. I had 16 hostesses for this shower so I had to stick to a budget. They all loved them!
