It’s Halloween Weekend, Boos & Ghouls

by Nina on October 29, 2010

Confession: I do a lot [A LOT] of things last minute. I had decided I would get a large bowl of candy for trick or treaters like most normal people and call it a day this Halloween. No big deal. I’m not dressing up or planning a special outfit, details or special treats for our special boos and ghouls aka our nieces and nephews and Godchildren.

But then I woke up today downloaded my first song off of iTunes and my day was magically transformed. Then JH suggested we put up a few spiderwebs on the front porch to get into the spirit and with that It. Was. All. Over.

This good-witch pulled out her pot and started casting spells…

I quickly jumped on Etsy to order this awesome printable Halloween party collection from Anders Ruff Custom Designs so that I can add a few decorations to the house and add fun tags to my extra special treats! We aren’t having a party this year so I won’t use all the pieces but I will save this set and most likely reuse it for many years to come. Isn’t it spooktacular!?

I’m not a fan of costumes so I’ll be sporting these fun orange & black stripe tights under a black shift with black turtleneck too because it’s officially COLD here.

Pepper Design Blog, one of my current favorite blogs along with Urban Grace Interiors, posted alternative ways to make spiderwebs. Too bad I don’t plan ahead for things like this because I would have been all over the boat nets! All of these ideas are spiderrific!

I’m heading home with a car load of candy, more pumpkins [to put in the black planters on the porch because I killed the mums], bags of store-bought spider webs, all the ingredients for spicy turkey chili soup [my own creation & made up name], giant lollipops for the boos and ghouls, lots of pretty paper to cut out and hopes to make Sprinkles Pumpkin Cupcakes before the kiddos arrive!

What are your plans this weekend? What are you wearin’ and who you scarin’?

Many many thanks to our friends Maureen and Adria at Anders Ruff Custom Designs for getting me the printable files faster than a witch on a broomstick!

And as they would say…
I hope all of you have a Fab-boo-lous Weekend!

Lots of great ideas! It’s so fun when suddenly the lightbulb clicks and you’re off decorating and enjoying yourself! Happy Halloween!

yay!

my main question is – how did you print those things off!? I’ve been researching for a printer all day..and one that can do card stock for fun things like that :) I have a few in my etsy cart!

We have super similar Halloween plans… nothing fancy, but I’m making poblano pepper turkey chili, pan del muerto (day of the dead bread) and pumpkin whoopie pies! Have a craft/bake-tastick weekend!
