I’m home from checking out the Black Friday madness. I did not actually enter one store. I sat in the Target parking lot for almost an hour, drove by ToysRUs, and back by Target. The lines were crazy long and ToysRUs was one person in for every person that came out. People were in and out of Target in less than 8 minutes with giant TVs.
The retailers have been building up the excitement for this day for months now. Sites online have been “leaking” sale information since what seems like the 4th of July. It’s CRAZY! I don’t care if they’re giving away free cars, it’s not that important. It was a giant letdown for me. Next year, I’ll go to bed instead!
Let’s focus on something more meaningful for the rest of today, Erin and I created our second printable for the holiday season with the help of our talented designer, Kelly Ashworth. 25 Christmas Traditions! This list includes my family’s traditions, Erin’s family’s traditions, traditions we’re going to start for our kids, and traditions we share. We loved working on this list. Throughout the month of December, we’re each going to tell you about different traditions but in the meantime, print out of our list of ideas and create a new tradition or two (or three) for your family! And also share them with a friend!
One of the best gifts you can give a family is a tradition they can carry on for years and years to come. While creating this list, I told Erin about the pickle ornament tradition we do in my family and the story behind it. She had never heard of it. So I made a quick trip to Hobby Lobby and bought the Carroll family a pickle ornament! That’s how traditions stay alive, you must pass them along to friends, new family members and with each new generation.
So, what are your favorite holiday traditions? I’d love to hear about them. Post them in the comment sections so every one can see them too!
