J’s mom and dad, my parents, J’s two sisters, his brother-in-law, his other sister’s boyfriend and myself are all heading out for a weekend in the wilderness. Brace yourself folks… I’m camping for the first time in my life. Not to worry, I don’t think this weekend is going to qualify us for any Boy Scout badges. J’s sister reassures me that she “camps” with her 750 count Egyptian cotton sheets, down pillows and box fans! Our parents have rented motor homes which have digital cable, DVD players and A/C so we will have extra cover and coolness, if needed.
Bless their hearts, my mom and J’s mom have both been cooking their hearts out today. Thank God, we won’t have to catch or kill our dinners!

That sounds nothing like the camping trips of my childhood – tents, sleeping bags, no electricity, and showers that were really just pumped in lake water with a pull-chain release valve (meaning you had to wash one-handed!). I am so glad that I’m married into a family where “roughing it” means anything less than 5 stars, ha ha! Hope you have a GREAT time

Congratulations on your first time exposure to the wild… and your first hand experience to nature. How was it? I want to hear more about it. My first time was something I will never forget because I made friend with a bear. Until now I can’t believe I was able to handle that bear attack. Don’t ask me how I did it because I myself didn’t realize what I was doing.
