Jack’s been asleep most of the morning so I’ve been buzzing around like a maniac! All the christening invites are addressed, sealed and ready to be dropped at the post office, coffee made and consumed, bagels toasted and served to JH before he left for the office (he’s interviewing for a new assistant today), showered, dressed and now blogging. It’s crazy how much you can get accomplished when you wake up at 6 a.m. and run on mom-mode!
Anyway, while working on tagging and categorizing old posts, I realized I never posted an “after” picture (I’m going to blame it on pregnancy brain) of our chalkboard project. Here’s the “before” and click here for more details of the project.

There is only one thing I would have done differently. I would have a new piece of VERY SMOOTH material cut for the board. We used the material that was in the frame when I purchased it. It’s very coarse which makes it hard to write on and even harder to clean.
My friend Julie included this prayer in the recipe binder she made for us when we got married and I think it’s a wonderful message for our kitchen wall.

If you’ve made a DIY chalkboard, what kind of material did you use for your board? Results?
p.s. How about that home management notebook out and in use with my Erin Condren Life Planner!?

I really like the finished project. I may have to try that at some point. I just love the prayer and going to start using it for our family grace as well as post it on the tile board in my kitchen.
Thank you so much for sharing
