Things I don’t like:
It drops calls – The Droid hates Margaret
The typing is not friendly – “Dakota” instead of “Fajitas”
The look of the phone is flat out ugly
Moral of the Story:
It just makes me want the iPhone even more. Steve Jobs and Ivan Seidenberg need to come to agreement STAT. This blogger & loyal Verizon customer *needs* an iPhone. Thankyouverymuch!

I couldn’t agree more! I’m dying for an iPhone but don’t want to leave my beloved Verizon. Can’t wait for an agreement to be reached!

I was lucky enough to get one (and hubby paid for it too!!!). It’s soooo addictive! I love it!! Now, I could live without it but I definitely don’t want too!!
I am so glad that you wrote about this, because my phone is on it’s way out and I’ve been trying to decide if I want an Iphone or the Droid…. Thanks for giving an honest review without all the techy jargon… I know this is going to sound silly, but I’m so excited that you are engaged… I woke up this morning and one of my first thoughts of the day was “Nina’s engaged, Yay! i know i never comment but thought i would since meah did…meah i didn’t know u got an iphone thank god i have no idea how u txted on the other one u had?! i got my iphone finally after having the SAME phone for just short of 4 YEARS?!?!?! i love it!!! DEF cannot txt and drive like the phone w/ buttons but ur not supposed to do that anymore anyway. i don’t get why u can’t get an iphone how much longer on ur veriz contract? i’m actually paying the same now and i have internet/email on this phone. veriz was ripping me!

I wanted to let you know that I’ve had the Droid for a few months now and when I first got it I kept having dropped calls ALL THE TIME. I went into Verizon because it was literally driving me nuts and they did some rebooting thing to it and I haven’t had one dropped call since! I don’t know if this would work for you but I thought I’d let you know!

iphone has an internal battery, which makes technical support challenging (aka your phone can’t be fixed in store and has to be shipped off). This is one of the main problems Vzw has w/ apple. They probably won’t carry the device until and external battery model is produced.
FYI- AT&T is in talks to start capping on data usage and charging for overage. VZW is unlimited on phones.
I love my Droid! I like the fact that it has a keyboard better than the iphone… Plus I personally think Apple is overrated! But, I understand that the iphone has a bunch of pluses. Unless Verizon ever makes it happen… I have to be “ok” with my Droid!

I absolutely LoVe my iPhone! I wouldn’t know what to do without it! I have always been a Cingular/AT&T customer because of family members so I can’t comment on the Verizon part, sorry. But we’d love for you to join the iPhone world Nina!

I just got the smaller Droid, the Eris, and I absolutely love it- I think it’s more like an iPhone, and I’ve had no problems with dropped calls or anything like that. It has treated me well so far!

I have a droid and I love it! When I first got it I thought I was having dropped calls, but it was actually my face hanging up on people. If you aren’t used to recognition software like that, it can take a little bit of time to adjust to it. I would tilt my head enough for the screen to come on and then my cheek would hang up on people. I have now gotten used to it and I have ZERO problems! I have several friends with iPhones and they are amazed at what all the Droid can do. I haven’t found anything the iPhone can do that the droid can’t. I think it’s pretty funny that there is actually a crash course you can get for the droid. It does so many things and has so many features, a tech person at Verizon actually teaches people how to use the phone. haha… crazy! Good luck with you phone situation! Hopefully you will get something you like soon!

I’m the same way as you! Super loyal to Verizon because they have the best coverage where I live — but really wanting an iPhone. I think it’s gonna be a loooong time. So sad!

I love my Droid except for the auto spellcheck. Honestly, if Verizon had the Iphone I would have it in an instant!
