Are you going out for a romantic dinner for two?
Dinner with a group of friends?
A casual night in?

Do you have rules on gifts? Large or small?
Do you buy cards?
Traditional Valentine’s Day heart shaped boxes full of assorted candy goods?
We’re trying to decide how we’re going to celebrate the Hallmark holiday this year.
Can’t wait to hear what you have planned!
Happy Friday!

I think I’m going to make this cake and surprise my family! I have two valentines – my husband and my little guy! http://iammommy.typepad.com/i_am_baker/2010/02/heart-cake-tutorial.html
I don’t like to go too overboard with the holiday because I think it’s just silly to spend so much money on it, so I like to do hand-crafted valentines, heart-shaped treats and sweet cards!
I’ve always thought Vday was a little cheesy. But, when my husband and I started dating in college I told him I wanted to go to a local hot dog place and eat hot dogs for vday dinner. I’m sure he thought I was crazy, but 6 years later we eat hot dogs every Feb 14! We don’t do gifts, cards, or anything else. Just fries, hot dogs, and a coke.
We always kind of play it by ear. My birthday is in November, then comes Christmas and my husband’s birthday is in January so most years we are both good with just exchanging cards and going out for dinner. This was especially true when I worked as a florist. This year though, we took it easy on Christmas and birthdays so we are going to exchange gifts. Personally, I really like that we keep it flexible, that way no one has super high expectations that lead to disapointment if things need to change.
This is our second Valentine’s with a little one (and I sadly can’t even remember what we did last year!), so we are planning on ordering in our favorite take-out and renting a movie once the little one is fast asleep. I couldn’t ask for a better night!
My fiance is supposed to come home from a 6 month deployment on Valentine’s Day
So there will be LOTS to celebrate on February 14th! Normally, we just go out to dinner or make a special meal at home.
My husband doesn’t believe in Valentine’s Day and it makes me sad every year. I am looking forward to little ones so they can be my Valentine.
I love Valentine’s Day but hate how restaurants jack up their prices and force you to do fixed menu meals. So my husband and I always try to find other fun ways to celebrate the holiday. this year we’re going to see an Avett Brothers concert a couple of days after Valentine’s!
We keep Valentine’s Day easy and fun. Every year we get mexican food… chips, guac and margarita’s make me happy! We only give each other cards, no gifts, but I always buy some See’s chocolate for us to enjoy that week!
No gifts, just quality time together. This year was my turn to plan. We are going to an art museum in Nashville and brunch at Union Station’s restaurant. Should be a fun day away from our two boys.
