On my way to a McCafe

by Nina on February 12, 2009

Dear Readers,

Can you believe it’s Thursday already? I can’t. I’m so very behind. I’ve been trying to pack my bags since Tuesday and some how my suitcase still has items in it from my NYC trip. Ahh, not good. My original schedule had me set to leave the house by 7am, stop at the McCafe (have you tried it yet?) for a latte and hit the north bound interstate in time to make it to Chicago for lunch. Well, big surprise, I royally screwed up that plan. I had a couple of pieces of business and a couple of designs that I really needed to finish before I left (mainly to ensure I enjoy my weekend). Plus, if you don’t leave before 10am you the have to wait until 2pm to avoid downtown rush hour. So here I am. PJ’s, latte, a quick post and an empty suitcase. I did somehow manage to do all of my laundry days in advance. Very odd for me. Normally, I leave with at least two pairs of wet jeans draped over my suitcase in the backseat with high hopes they will be dry by the time I hit Lakeshore Drive.

Reason for my trip…

My Uncle Jack (my Godfather) is coming in from FL this weekend and I would not pass up the opportunity to see him for the world!!  This picture is of us from Thanksgiving 2007. We were very lucky to have him with us for the holiday since he normally does not leave FL during the winter months. We are quite lucky again because he has never visited in FEB since he and my Aunt moved to Florida. So big thanks to John Block for asking Uncle to be your sponsor for Confirmation!

Along with visiting Uncle, I have plans to go into the Chicago office tomorrow afternoon, shop for wedding invitations with my City Parents, hopefully catch up with BF Lauren to discuss a fundraiser we are going to host for a very worthy cause, meet a new friend for brunch on Monday… all while checking my phone every five minutes to see if Kelly has gone into labor yet. The Rebel is staying put in southern Illinois with his battery pack on the charger so he is fully rested and ready to go when the phone call comes in. I’m just praying Baby Webb #2 waits til Monday to make his debut!!

As always, thank you for being such loyal readers. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying all of your posts in my Reader — Blog Rolls are coming soon!

You’ll most definitely hear from me while I’m in the Windy City.

Until then, I hope you enjoy your day to the fullest and I hope that Cupid is on his way to your house!

xx,

Nina
