Happy Monday to you! I found this L’Oreal Sublime Bronze One Day Tinted Gel at Target last week. I’ve used it a couple of times and for the most part I’m very pleased with my purchase. Sunless tanner is such a commitment. If you apply you have to maintain your skin so you don’t start looking like a baby with jondis. The only self tanner I’ve ever found that works for me is the St. Tropez mixed with my every day body lotion, click here and here to read all about it. So when I noticed this “instant tan / non-self tanner” I was extremely excited. It works great when you need to take the edge off of your White White Winter Legs before you have time to get out in the real sun!

Negative: If you apply the Tinted Gel with bare hands, you must have a clean Scotch Brite to remove it from your hands. Basically it’s like wood varnish! Unless you want to exfoliate your hands with a cleaning pad, I highly recommend using spa / bathroom gloves for application.

Although it’s difficult to get off your hands, it seems to stay on my skin and not rub off on my clothes. I even wore my white eyelet tunic dress and there is only minor sign of bronzer on the inside. Nothing major.

For those that asked about my menu planning notebook, here it is. These can be purchased at Wal-Mart stores nationwide! And for the record, I did misspell and mistype “Adobo” in last weeks menu planning post. I use “Adobe Creative Suite” almost every day and my brain automatically added a “e” instead of an “o” – do you have a word that you always spell wrong because it’s something you say or type every day. None-the-less, I still could not find AdobO sauce at my grocery store. I was looking for the right thing even though I was referring to it as a software program!

Lots of fun and exciting things going on this week. My mother starts her second 6-week program of culinary school at Le Cordon Blue and it’s Bridal Shower Week!!! The girls were over last night making the final checklists before Kiks leaves for the week. It’s going to be quite a party!

I’ve been using this new Cream Shave by Skintimate for a few weeks now and I’m IN LOVE. Shaving creaming is always so messy and it always slides right off my leg and onto the floor of the shower. Which leads to me slipping and almost killing myself. The Skintimate Cream Shave does not. Did you ever use the body butter from The Body Shop? It has a close consistency of the body butter, also leaving your legs SUPER SMOOTH. Grab a bottle the next time you are at your local retailer. I’ve only purchased it at Target but I’m sure they have it at other retailers too. I’m not being paid for this, by the way! Just spreading the good word of surviving the shower & smoother legs!!

Sally Hansen No Chip Acrylic Top Coat .45 oz.

The newest addition is this little bottle of magic. No Chip Acrylic Top Coat by Sally Hansen. In the last month or so, a couple of different people have told me about the ‘no chip manicures’ they are getting at this little place on Wells Street [Chicago]… they love but not-so-in-love with the price ($50).

During a recent visit to the grocery store I made my way down the cosmetic aisle and to my surprise I saw this little bottle of top coat clearly marked ‘No Chip’. I thought it was worth a shot since it was priced at less than $5. I did a quick DYI manicure that night and finished it off with my new top coat. Now, a few days later, I’m extremely impressed with the results! And, don’t forget, I’m a manicure-snob. I’m planning on taking this top coat with me to the salon from now on.

This pink quilted make-up case is what’s new in my bathroom!!! It has the functionality of a hard-case but with a soft feel and it’s large enough that I can throw in a few hair products and my toothpaste when I travel. You can purchase the case online but I would recommend checking your local store because I paid around $28 with tax for mine. The two zipper compartments on the top are extremely handy as well. I use the top one for tiny hair accessories and/or earrings and the bottom one for tweezers and q-tips etc. If you are in the market for a new cosmetic case… you must check it out. I’m very pleased with this purchase!

I’m pretty sure I’ve touched on this before (I think my very first ‘what’s new in my bathroom?’) but Belle of the Ball is looking for the perfect self-tanner and her comments show that many of us are in need of reducing the winter whiteness!

My friend, Arden, led me to this little bottle of gold. St. Tropez Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion. Here are the KEY POINTS:

1. Must be Step 3 (the pump is the giveaway… no pump… it’s not the right one)

2. The lotion is tinted aka it’s almost black. This makes it very easy to see where it is going and how much you need unlike the colorless lotions.

3. MIX IT with your regular daily lotion. 1/4 St. Tropez 3/4 Daily Lotion. Or 1/2 & 1/2. This gives you nice color without looking like you have self-tanner on.

This morning it was All-Family Workout… in our Finest Winter Gear! Don’t look too closely though… it’s a bit scary. Can’t you tell they love getting their picture taken at 7:20AM? But anyway, it was a great start to the day. I’m traveling today… so until later tonight. Good Day, Readers.
