I’m not going to rewrite the article because one, that would be silly. You can click the link above and read it for yourself. And two, it would also be plagiarism!

So instead here are MY thoughts on the categories, not necessarily even in comparison to the article, just simply my thoughts on what to buy and what not to buy at Target (using the article’s basic outline)…

Things you should NOT buy at Target:

Furniture
If you are in the market for long-term bedroom furniture for example, Target should not be a stop on your list. Target’s “knock down” furniture can also be very pricey but there are times when you can find an accent piece or something on sale that might be just the ticket for that empty corner, antique dining room table find or simply a temporary fix until you can find/afford what you really want.

Also, Target online carries designers/brands that you cannot buy in the store. Still kind of risky. You have no idea what kind of quality you will end up with until it’s already sitting on your doorstep. Yes, you can always return but check to make sure you can return the piece in the store and I would suggest waiting until you qualify for free shipping so you aren’t out any money. I personally love this chair but the chances of me ordering it online are slim to none for the above reasons.

Movies & Music
I don’t buy music so I’m not even going to say boo about that. Movies. I do pick up DVDs at Target. They beat Best Buys price and I’m not driving to Wal-Mart just to save $5. I don’t like ordering on Amazon because I have to wait for the movie to arrive in the mail. I do not rent movies because I was raised in a house that we kept the movies so long that we eventually owned the video store company. I’m still trying to convince JH that we need Netflix.

In my mind, $49.98 down to $32.99 is savings enough!

Side note: I’ve never seen an episode of Modern Family. Is that bad?

I don’t buy exercise equipment so I’ll keep my mouth zipped on this one too. Please refer to the article for more details.

I double checked and the article is correct. You can buy the Kindle at Target for the exact same price as you can on Amazon. This picture is straight from this week’s ad.

Green Cleaning Products

We use the J.R. Watkins Apothecary hand soap and multi-purpose cleaning spray in the aloe scent. I love it. I love the smell, the bottle design and the graphics. Can you tell I work in marketing? I fall for it all. I’ve never tried the Method Laundry Detergent, have you?

I’m not in the market to buy baby wipes yet (hopefully soon but not yet) but I’ve heard good and bad reviews on the Seventh Generation products. Do you use them?

Our local Target is not a grocery store {I wish it was} but I do buy a few grocery items at Target. We like Eight O’Clock Coffee which happens to be cheaper at Target than at our local grocery store.

Today, I need your help. I purchased this accent rug from the Fieldcrest® Luxury Jacobean Floral Wool Rug Collection last week. I bought it specifically for our backdoor which is actually visible from pretty much anywhere in the main living areas of our home. We have a very open living space. Kitchen, dining room and living room are all open to each other. Plus we walk right over it every time we go in and out of the master bedroom. I do LOVE the design of this rug and it’s very well made.

The question: We have a long hallway on the other side of the living space (opposite the backdoor) that needs a runner in the worst way. Do I buy the matching runner or a different one?? Does it matter than I’ve decorated the guest room with this patterned duvet?? I also need a rug under under dining room table and also in our kitchen. Rugs make me very nervous. I don’t want the rug to limit my decor but I also don’t want the rugs to be completely lame-o-beige.

Would love to hear your thoughts on my rug predicament?
