Am I the only one that grew up listening to the Carpenters? Well… the intercom at 703 is broadcasting the singles from 1969 – 1981 this morning. It’s so upbeat and inspiring. Who needs Beyonce & Jay Z when you have Karen & Richard! Some of my faves are “Top of the World,” “Touch me when we’re dancing,” and “Please Mr. Postman.”

Yaaaay! Finally someone else who appreciates the oldies. I had Carpenters on at Christmas. Now i have Burt Bacharach, Dionne warwick, and had to throw in some Barbara Streisand! My music thingy is at the bottom of my page so no one probably ever sees it. But i like it because it reminds me of driving down PCH in so Cal.

Top of the World is one of my absolute favorites. If you get the Akin clan together we’ll start singing and harmonizing just like Karen and Richard (and some imaginary back up singers). The Carroll clan doesn’t do all of that– no wonder I love visiting my parents so much!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Carpenters!! (I was born in the mid 80′s though) Anyway, I was getting my car serviced today and some of their music came on while I was waiting. I couldn’t help but sing to myself.. thank goodness no one else was waiting with me! Haha
I’m definitely an old soul. I love The Carpenter’s and that whole era of music. I think that’s why my husband (who’s 17 years older than me) and I get along so well! Love some music from the 60s and 70s!
