This should clearly explain the difference between me and my baby sister.
She is turning 21 on Monday and my mother wanted to plan her an extravagant birthday party to the wine trails with a rented party bus at all. Sister quickly put a cabosh on that with… “I just want to have a big BBQ on Saturday at the house.”
I’m sure you are putting two and two together.
Yep, yours truly here had a black tie party for her 21st. Band, filets and the whole nine yards.

My sister basically wants the same thing. She is very casual.
I was at college smack dab in midterm week when I turned 21…and my parents were almost 11 hours away. I did the good old fashioned bar crawl.

That’s what makes life interesting for your mom and dad – your differences!!
I’ll take the black tie any day, but I was in college and had a party in a dorm room filled with girls!! So fun, though!!

To be honest though, I would prefer the bbq too! Haha
I was in college when I turned 21. Think I spent it at a bar.

It’s funny how alike yet different sisters can be! I’m a sucker for black tie any time I can get it! There’s just something so much fun about getting dressed up.

I didn’t have anything special, none of my friends from college were in town because I was home for the summer and I had 1 good friend with me who was celebrating his 24th birthday on the same day. We went to a local bar and got obliterated!
I wish I could have had a big bash. I was in college and waiting tables at Chili’s the night of my 21st birthday! My coworkers took me to a dive bar afterward where I quickly decided Jagermeister was not my choice of drink.

oh a black tie would be so fun. when hubby turned 21 we went out to a nice restaurant in dc for dinner and dancing with a live band, it was so much fun =)
I had a big party with all of the family at home. However, Mom got out the Tiffanys silver and the Old Galway crystal for my birthday. I felt it was a good mix of family-casual summer day-with classic touches : )

Really?! I have never been to a “black tie” 21st! How nice! I was in college and got my first Tiffany’s bracelet. I still wear it almost every day.
