I know it’s the last day of January but today is the start of a new year for me in blogland! As I’m sure you have noticed I have not been blogging much lately nor have I been keeping up with my normal Twitter presence. No matter what some people say, when things are changing in your day-to-day life, things you don’t want to broadcast online, it’s very hard to publish a daily blog.
I’ve been blogging for approximately five years now. There are good days and there are bad days. There are many days I open up my computer and lose all interest in sharing my thoughts or ideas. And then there are days like today that it hits me that I’m the one in control. No one else. Just me.
With this post, I’m giving you my commitment that I will NOT let anyone or anything (or my hatred toward uploading pictures) stop me from sharing my thoughts, ideas and new adventures with all of you. I will not let my emotions get the best of me any longer. And I will tell you right now is not the most opportune time to put any sort of guarantee on my emotions (hint hint) but I’m going to do it first for myself, because I love blogging and the blogging community I’ve become a part of. Second, for all of you! All of my sweet and loyal readers. I love your comments, your emails and your tweets. I also love just knowing that you are out there laughing at my silly faces or weird made-up recipes!
So, first new adventure on the agenda…
I’m pregnant! 15 weeks, 1 day to be exact. I’m officially in my second trimester and we couldn’t be more thrilled to finally announce the news to all of you. It’s been a daily struggle not to spill the beans! We found out right before Thanksgiving. Everyone is extremely excited! I’ve been to the doctor three times now and go for my 16 week appointment next Tuesday. We will find out the sex of the baby hopefully four weeks from then.
On our way to our local Chamber’s Annual Dinner last Friday night.
For the first 10-11 weeks I was pretty sick. The only thing I could eat were crackers, baked potatoes, broccoli (weird, huh?) and 7up or Sierra Mist. No Sprite. Gag. Then I started with the peanut butter on toast, a week or so later I added Just Fruit jelly. Pickles were added to the mix at about 11 weeks while we were in Florida for Christmas vacation. At that point, I was eating more regularly. I’m trying so very hard to do the breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack routine. I’m still getting used to the fact that I need to eat numerous times a day. Especially since I can only eat small portions at a time. If I eat too much, I am miserable.
Most days I eat cereal and a cup of tea for breakfast with some fruit. I also like oatmeal. Lately I’ve been eating leftovers for lunch or if I’m out I eat a lot of Mexican food. I feel like beans are good source of protein. I do eat chicken but I can’t eat a lot at one time. I have not been eating much beef but I did have the Avocado Burger on wheat bun at Chili’s about a week ago and it was DELICIOUS! I’m obsessed with fish sandwiches. So weird and I do control my intake since I’m not supposed to have too much but seriously I could eat a fish sandwich every day for lunch. Bad news for my Asian-food-loving husband, I want NOTHING to do with Asian food. Nothing. The thought of going to our local favorite The Bistro sends me right over the edge. So for now, JH eats it for lunch (I think almost every day) to get his fix!
I’ve already starting using my Zulily credits to buy a few baby items. The rule is if it isn’t gender neutral, we have to buy one girl item & one boy item. We don’t want to jinx ourselves, now do we?! Over the next few days, I’ll post all of the fun gifts we’ve already received in the mail, the pregnancy items I’ve already fallen in love with and the DIY project sitting in my garage that is screaming for warmer days. Now that I think about it, I have a LONG list of posts to share. I have about a hundred notes in my myAgenda – not all baby related either. Everything in moderation!
Oh and before I go, I’m not working at the advertising firm anymore. I’m home and working on a handful of current projects. I’m keeping very busy to say the least!

Congrats!! I found out I was pregnant around the same time. I’m 16 weeks today. I was sick as a dog too in the beginning. This isn’t my first time at the rodeo. I wasn’t sick at all the first two times. This one was a huge surprise. My other two are 14 and 10. You look so cute with your little bump. Hope you have smooth sailing from here on out. The first time is always the most fun.
