31 Days of Gift Giving: Day 4 Boss’s Day

Boss's Day falls on October 16th this year, which I was reminded today is right around the corner. I've always thought this holiday is a little awkward. It's always tough to buy a gift for your boss. You want the gift to be professional and not silly or too serious but you also don't want it to be too personal or too expensive.

Here are a few gifts I would recommend for male and/or female bosses:

1. Local Barbershop, Salon or Spa Gift Certificates
Everyone likes to be pampered.

2. Magazine subscription
Magazine subscriptions are something not everyone will order for themselves but most people enjoy them very much. Of course, you have to know enough about your boss to know what they would like or an Amazon gift card works too.

3. Wine of the Month Club
We like to order from The Wall Street Journal Wine Club, but do a little research to find one that you like best if this fits the bill for your boss.

4. Plant or Flowers 
This is the "safe" gift on the list. Call your local florist and have a nice plant or simple flower arrangement delivered to your boss from you and your fellow colleagues. Be sure to specify it's for "boss's day" so they don't send a bouquet of roses.

5. Starbucks
This is the "very safe" gift on the list. Who doesn't appreciate a Starbucks card?
