Summer Rental On Audio

posted by ninahelleny in PRODUCT REVIEWS, SHOPPING

On my way to Atlanta over a month ago now, somewhere between here and there I started to grow very bored. The weather was terrible so I didn't want to talk on the phone, but I needed something to help me make it through the long hours of delayed travel.

I purchased Summer Rental by Mary Kay Andrews through iTunes and listened to on the way down to Atlanta, all the way home, a few short trips down to the lake, to and from St. Louis yesterday and last night I insisted on finding a pair of earbuds so I could finish this darn book!

I'll be honest if I would have been reading this book in hard copy it would probably still be sitting on my nightstand unfinished. It was pretty slow but listening to audio is very different than flipping the pages of a book. I always say audio books are like the meeting grounds of books and movies.

It's a summer chick lit read. All the really good stuff happens in the last six to eight chapters. But I enjoyed my quiet, peaceful time in the car just me and the voice of the narrator Isabel Keating.

If you're going on a long car ride alone, you should try listening to a "book on tape" it's very relaxing and it's far safer than texting and driving.
