Kelly from Kelly’s Korner is hosting a “Show Us Your Nursery” link up that started this past Friday. I started planning this nursery a long time ago when I first posted about my inspiration for creating this “Jack & Jill Nursery”. We discussed it again here and here.
Karen Akin of The Golden Egg created Jack’s bedding after I found the “citrus pearl” (bedskirt & rocker cushion) and “monkey” material (blanket & pillow accents). I wanted the room to give our children a safe, peaceful, and fun environment to rest and play in.
My over-all vision came alive very quickly with the exception of the wall art and the rug. I had the hardest time choosing a piece for above the crib. One of the very first pieces of art I looked at was the Circus Parade by Oopsy Daisy and I should know by now to go with your first instinct, because this turned out to be the perfect piece for this room. Not only do Joe and I love it, Jack adores it!
I’m still working on the wall behind the nightstand and rocker. I have numerous memory-sake items like a school letter Joe wrote about “what is a parent” and old pictures of the people Jack will sadly never meet here on Earth. I want to turn the items into a collages on that wall. But I’m still in search of all the frames and how to put it all together. Wall collages are not easy, in my opinion.
I found the rug by chance on Zulily and scored it for almost nothing after using up a bunch of store credits. To be honest, I’m still kind of obsessed with the rug!
So that’s it for now. I’ll share all the details and other side of the room when I have the collage finished.
