Back in September I vlogged about the fantastic eBook 100 Days to Christmas by Jennifer Tankersley. If you missed it, click here to watch the vlog.
Since we are almost half-way to Christmas now, I thought I would update you on what I’ve accomplished and what I’m behind on since starting the challenge.
- I’ve marked my calendar with all important dates.
- I’ve started wish/idea lists for everyone I need to buy for.
- I’ve determined who is on my list.
- I’ve pinned ideas for gifts.
- I’ve kept a few catalogs I might like to order from.
- I’ve decorated our house for Fall with tons of pumpkins and gourds.
- We took Jack to the pumpkin patch.
- We enjoyed homemade apple dumplings thanks to Kiks!
- With homemade vanilla bean ice cream, of course!
- I’ve started thinking about the design of our Christmas cards. It’s so hard to pick between Minted, Tiny Prints, Ashley Brooke, Kelly Ashworth… how will I choose just one?
- I’ve updated my address book.
- We decorated for Halloween, bought Jack a costume and planned and hosted a Halloween party.
- My Pinterest Christmas board is already full of crafts for the holiday season.
- And Thanksgiving crafts too.
- I’m taking in all the Fall foliage.
- I’m working very hard at completing projects on my master to-do list.
- Jack and I have been enjoying the Fall weather outside by taking walks in our neighborhood.
- Pumpkin bread or muffins? I put Pumpkin Spice lattes in this category. All consumed.
- We most definitely enjoyed a Halloween party.
Things to Do:
- Create a holiday budget.
- Finalize Christmas photos.
- Find this year’s gift wrap. I always have a theme so this is one is a big deal for me.
- Start stocking up on stocking stuffers. One of my favorite things to do!
- I’m working on creating our very own tradition for Advent.
- Establishing traditions for the three of us, in addition to the ones we will still do with both of our families.
- Holiday party planning? I’m still recovering from our Halloween party!
- Holiday travel plans? For the most part these are taken care of.
- We visit both families on Thanksgiving so I don’t have much to plan for Thanksgiving which I’m extra thankful for!
- I need to call our local food bank to get this year’s list of needed items and plan my shopping trip.
As you can see, I’m a little behind but this challenge has helped me so much. I feel so much more at ease about the holidays, even with many items still on my list. I will update you again at the beginning of December. That way I have two points of accountability!
So, how are you doing with your list? Have you ordered or picked out your holiday cards yet? If so, where did you find your favorite design? Do you include a picture? Do you use a professional photo or a snapshot from the year?

It looks like you are doing great! Each challenge is meant to get people thinking about what needs to be done. That is exactly what you’ve done. Way to go, Nina!
Yikes! I’m way behind. I have given some thought to my gift wrap, though – I do a theme, too and I get very carried away some years!
Don’t forget to consider Sweet Birdie’s Nest for your Christmas cards, too
